    HELP!!!

    Trying to run ABC@home on a Vista 64 box. Always getting the x86_64 not found error. So I tried copying over the abc@home stuff from a 32 bit machine and creating a app_info.xml for the project but always get an error message in Boinc "state file error: bad application name abc-finder_1.02_windows_intelx86"

    Any thoughts?

            here's the proper app_info.xml for abc@home

            <app_info>
            <app>
            <name>abc-finder</name>
            </app>
            <file_info>
            <name>abc-finder_1.02_windows_intelx86.exe</name>
            <executable/>
            </file_info>
            <app_version>
            <app_name>abc-finder</app_name>
            <version_num>102</version_num>
            <file_ref>
            <file_name>abc-finder_1.02_windows_intelx86.exe</file_name>
            <main_program/>
            </file_ref>
            </app_version>
            </app_info>

                  It is still NOT working!

                  While looking at the output of your boinc client i noticed that you
                  didn't restarted boinc and/or haven't copied the app_info.xml into the "../projects/abcathome.com" directory.

                  Btw. did you download the application too and placed it in the above mentioned directory ???

                  http://abcathome.com/download/abc-finder_1.02_windows_intelx86.exe

                    I'm running Vista 64 on intel Quad core. It doesn't seem to be downloading the x64 for my machine. Any ideas as to why? :/

                      Remember that you have to use the 64 bit version off the BOINC CC. It is located here

                      http://boincdl.ssl.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_5.10.28_windows_x86_64.exe

                      If you still are using the 32 bit CC, then you will only get a 32 bit cruncher downloaded.

                        Thank you, that was indeed all too obvious.
                        I was unaware of a windows 64bit BOINC client.
