In case the work unit disappears, that's my host 37801 792.01 seconds msattler's host 38697 549.92 seconds I'm a little leery to try to go higher with just a Big Typhoon and since I'm using 64 bit Ubuntu, I have no clue what my temps are like. As with crunching at Seti, more GHz is better. Faster Pussycat, crunch crunch!

I have No Sensors Found! usually you do it that way. 1. in a shell type "./sensors-detect" and answer a questions with YES 2. after that you'll get a message like that: To load everything that is needed, add this to some /etc/rc* file: #----cut here---- # Chip drivers modprobe coretemp # sleep 2 # optional /usr/bin/sensors -s # recommended #----cut here---- you should now load the module with "modprobe coretemp" , that should be it. 	Well....I am doing nicely, RAC at 4825 after 6 days.... I was gonna cut back over to Seti tomorrow night, but I don't think I will have crunched all of the ABC WUs in my cache by then. Makes sense, my cache was set to 10 days when I started to download work.... Sooo....I will stick around for a few extra days to crunch up the work that I have in my cache, won't abandon any. But then I really have to get back to Seti, 'cuz I got a lotta WUs in my cache there also, some with early March deadlines, and I don't wanna leave any of my wingmen in the lurch there either.... ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City.

	Well.....after almost exactly 1 week of crunching here, the kitties are winding down their adventure in ABC land. May take a day or two more to finish the WUs I have left, but at the one week point..... RAC 5370 Credits 72,271, averages to about 10,324 per day!! As a side note......when crunching ABC, I do not seem to see much RAM activity...possibly most of ABC crunching fits into the larger L2 cache of the Penryn and that would help the performance greatly.... Crunch3r, I salute you.......I think I might come close to you if I stayed here for 4 weeks so my RAC could get close to maximizing, but I simply cannot... Must get back to my Seti work. I don't think my 4 cores could quite catch your beastie....nice rig ya got there!!! And it was a fun challenge, my friend. I won't bore you with all the arguments about how crunching SETI is a waste of time (the hopelessness of finding a signal from an intelligent source and all that). Just login to the Reken Mee Met ABC site (link on ABC's home page) and see how many ABC triples you've found already. Compare that with the number of intelligent signals SETI has found to date. Then realize that here you can find something real that science/math can build on and use. Maybe discovering ABC triples will eventually lead to the maths that unlock secrets we cannot fathom now, like maybe warp-drive technology we can use to send probes to the edges of the galaxy and beyond in our search for ETs.

Maybe I need to load a 64 BIT OS on my V8's and toss them some ABC WU's Right now I just have a couple quads ABCing and should be getting some more online in the next 30-60 days - Yeah, it's a nice machine, though there's one thing that bugs me a bit... i need to add more RAM since i'm only running in dual chanel mode right now :-( BTW, you're irish now ? ____________ regards Crunch3r

	If he set up dual boots with linux 64 bit (or even just changed the boxes over to 64 bit linux) he would get closer to double that RAC...

Ooohhhhhh....cage rattling.... I am already running XP x64 on the phased quaddy....the others are all 32 bit. Never played with Linux.... I'm afraid I would get quite lost in it..... There are so many different versions out there from what I can gather, that I don't know where I would start.....or how to go about it. 	Well folks....... It's been great fun here..... The kitties are slowly working their way back to Seti...but will finish all of the ABC work that was issued to me. Quite pleased with the run though, made it to #7 computer with the phased quaddy, and #19 in the overall standings. Come visit me at Seti sometime. 	Wow ok im scared. My poor Q6600's apear to be badly outclassed lol. Hope i can turn out 4.6Ghz one day lol. My watercooled system only hits 4Ghz. My aircooled is a little warm at 3.5Ghz lol but its still got a nice RAC. Edit: I better get the other 2 quads back here ASAP before the whole world overtakes me. ____________
