are the kittys hungry? hehe :-) we already do share one WU ;) http://abcathome.com/workunit.php?wuid=6045643 Curious how fast your quad will crunch it ! You should be able to get a RAC higher than over at SETI. I'd guess ~7k to 7.2K should be possible for your quad ;) ____________ regards Crunch3r ![]()

I got that working one time on another board, and I didn't really believe the numbers it put out, but this board P35 chipset may be too new for Ubuntu. Or I just can't figure out the command line to get it to work. I have No Sensors Found!
| ID: 7934 | Rating: 0 | rate:
| |
usually you do it that way. 1. in a shell type "./sensors-detect" and answer a questions with YES 2. after that you'll get a message like that: To load everything that is needed, add this to some /etc/rc* file: #----cut here---- # Chip drivers modprobe coretemp # sleep 2 # optional /usr/bin/sensors -s # recommended #----cut here---- you should now load the module with "modprobe coretemp" , that should be it. If that all ain't work you probably have to download the latest source package from http://lm-sensors.org/ and compile it on your own. HTH P.S. V8 is at #4 RAC 9,317.88 ____________ regards Crunch3r ![]()

Yep! Wonder what that "custom tuned phase change compressor" is all about. Sounds like maybe he's got the mobo snap-tied to a package of frozen pork chops in his freezer ;) @msattler, got pics?

LOL....I dunno about that pork chop idea....sorry, but I have no pics to share right now......no digital camera, spent it all on computer hardware....if you wanna learn some more about phase change cooling, spend a little time in the xtremesystems phase cooling forum. @Crunch3r......nice RAC ya got going there!!! I'll never catch ya, but it'll be interesting to see where I end up after 1 weel of crunching here.... ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City. ![]()

I think I must......have lots of Seti WUs in my cache, and I don't want them to expire....I'll leave it going until Friday night though.... BTW....I am currently processing a WU that has been going for 4-1/2 hours and shows 33% completed, which is advancing, but very slowly... Is this just an unusual WU, a broken WU, and should I abort it or just let it run (hopefully to completion)? ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City. ![]()

It could be a 1000 point gem or perhaps a 1000 point stinker. We get them every once in a while. It's most likely not broken. Most pay very generous credits per hour (gems), some are not so generous (stinkers).
| ID: 7946 | Rating: 0 | rate:

OK...thanks.... I will just let it run....it's now at 4 hours 50 minutes and 36% complete..... ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City. ![]()

That's one of those that will grand you 1000 credits... keep calm bout those... ! Looking forware to see you're V4 moving up in ther rankings !!! Having a RAC of 3420 i amazing !! Mark don't move your phased V4 to early back to seti !! i know that you're not here bout the credits at all but having you here ( and of course the kitties too) is quite interesting ... We could open up a new thread for all of the SETI MODS.... Fivestar Crashtest, You and me... a private ABC lesson for the SETI mods ;) ____________ regards Crunch3r ![]()

Best Regards to all.... Really sorry to see you go, Mark. I won't bore you with all the arguments about how crunching SETI is a waste of time (the hopelessness of finding a signal from an intelligent source and all that). Just login to the Reken Mee Met ABC site (link on ABC's home page) and see how many ABC triples you've found already. Compare that with the number of intelligent signals SETI has found to date. Then realize that here you can find something real that science/math can build on and use. Maybe discovering ABC triples will eventually lead to the maths that unlock secrets we cannot fathom now, like maybe warp-drive technology we can use to send probes to the edges of the galaxy and beyond in our search for ETs.

Best Regards to all.... I do not agree with the arguments that 'crunching Seti is a waste of time'...... It is my quest.......!!! Who can argue that solving math problems is more significant than searching for a radio telescope signal from afar? What has the greater impact on humanity.... Finding a math equation's solution (not that I belittle that), or seeking an actual radio signal from a race we do not yet know..... See ya on the Seti circuit.......... Hope you can respect my stance..... ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City. ![]()

Yeah, it's a nice machine, though there's one thing that bugs me a bit... i need to add more RAM since i'm only running in dual chanel mode right now :-( Yes. For the current Xeon's, you need at least 4 DIMMs. ____________ Dublin, CA Team SETI.USA

I already got 4 x 1GB Samsung FB DIMMS .. Need another 4 of those to get the board running in quad channel mode since it has 8 dimm slots :-) ____________ regards Crunch3r ![]()

Hoo hah!!! Phappp!!! One of my single core Athlon 64 is doing as good as some of your core 2 and it's not even OC. Put a 64-bit Linux on those meow kitties so they can roar. Get gparted to make a Linux partition, burn a live Linux 64-bit distro DVD, easy for an ol' hoohah fart.

Hoo hah!!! Are you high! Your top producer http://boincstats.com/stats/host_graph.php?pr=abc_main&id=6522 His http://boincstats.com/stats/host_graph.php?pr=abc_main&id=38697 Mine http://boincstats.com/stats/host_graph.php?pr=abc_main&id=37811 (keep in mind - mine has been down for about 5-6 hours each day for the past week..) Msattler should top out at about 11,000- 12,000 RAC = given he has 4 cores to your one, divide 11,000 x 4 = 2750 per core average. I think your per core average is somewheres around 1200-1300 per core (giving you the benefit) ____________ ![]()

Hoo hah!!! Easy big guy! I'm not stupid, just rattling Mark's cage a little, mostly just trying to convince him to get with the 64-bit advantage and rev up the kitties to full power so we can all see what he can do at ABC, even if it's just for a day or 2.

Ooohhhhhh....cage rattling.... I am already running XP x64 on the phased quaddy....the others are all 32 bit. Never played with Linux.... I'm afraid I would get quite lost in it..... There are so many different versions out there from what I can gather, that I don't know where I would start.....or how to go about it. And I'd be terribly afraid of borking what I already have running well....... ____________ Visit and help by giving a Click for Seti City. ![]()
