Sounds like you would like the beach, just take a dip when you get too hot. Actually the mid 80's is not comfy for me either, I LOVE the a/c and we run ours here at home 24/7 keeping the house at a comfy 73F. It is cooler outside right now, 5:38AM so the doors are open and the light breeze is trying to cool the house off just a little. I will have to close the house back up soon though as the temp is going up to the mid 80's again today.

Here in Illinois, middle of America, it is in the mid 60'sF thi morning but going to the mid to upper 80's later today. It is going to be the same in Virginia, which is on the East Coast, where I live. No rain in sight but when it goets in the 90's later this week it could thunderstorm everyday.

That looks like Ferrari and Felipe Massa messing up his chances to be World Champion! I think the pressure got to them, they are much better, in the pits, this year. AND Massa was on the podium the other day. First time this year and he got 3rd place!!! He was behind the 2 Red Bull cars but ahead of the Brawn cars and waaaaaaaaaay ahead of the McLarens!!! Lewis Hamilton, the reigning World Champion, actually was told by his pits to 'drive the car and they would decide the strategy' after he asked if he should quit the race when he messed up and was already a lap down after only 2 laps into the race!

I think he will come back if he and Ferrari think he is the best man for the job. Now best man for the job can mean many things, best for PR, best driver, best whatever. Personally I think he would love to come back and show what he can do, the old ego trip and all. But since there is no testing in F1 this year, can they sorta kinda cheat and drive a GP2 car that is setup like an F1 car?, he will have had no actual driving in a race care for a couple of years while both Gene and LaBradoer(sp) both have had. I too would LOVE to see him come back and prove he can still do it but realistically he probably won't.

As for MS I think he will driving a GP2 car and in the Ferrari F1 simulator during this break, I do not think GP2 driving counts as testing. AND Ferrari is good enough to make a GP2 car handle enough like an F1 car to make the transition as small as possible.

Ur, um... sorry to say I'm from the good old US of A too. English is my primary language. My problem was dislexia when I was growing up. I tend to invert my letters. Thus my creative spelling. As for multi lingual, I had Spanish, French and Latin taught in grammer school. That gives away my age a little. Picked up my Russian in College. My soviet political system class was taught in Russia. My best friend in law school had a doctorate in linguestics. He taught me how english is German based and by understanding the roots I was able to pick up the present day language. So some of us Americans are multi-lingual too.

English is a great language. Just have part with the conformity thing. I enjoy my creative spelling.
Your English is MUCH better than my usage of any other language!! I am always amazed at how us Americans think we are the best in the World at everything yet 99% of us know one language, English, and sometimes it not even very well! The rest of the World normally knows their own native language and then English too! And in some cases alot of people know many languages, and learn them in school!!!
And AZMoon, don't be so hard on yourself, lots of us don't crunch here anymore!
Ur, um... sorry to say I'm from the good old US of A too. English is my primary language. My problem was dislexia when I was growing up. I tend to invert my letters. Thus my creative spelling. As for multi lingual, I had Spanish, French and Latin taught in grammer school. That gives away my age a little. Picked up my Russian in College. My soviet political system class was taught in Russia. My best friend in law school had a doctorate in linguestics. He taught me how english is German based and by understanding the roots I was able to pick up the present day language. So some of us Americans are multi-lingual too.
Yes I knew you has US in your profile and I also know lots of Americans are multi-lingual but I also know LOTS of us aren't. I took French and Spanish, 1 year of each, in high school. French was because the Russian class was canceled due to a lack of people signing up. I only took one year of it because I didn't really care for it. I only took Spanish because I was told I needed 2 years of foreign language to get into college and no could tell me whether it was 2 years of one or 2 years total. Spanish was easy and I had an A in it until I joined the Navy mid year. Then the teacher and I had an agreement, I would sit in the back of the class and be quiet and he wouldn't ask me to participate! I already had 2 study halls and they wouldn't give me any more and I had to come to school. So I sat back there doing whatever and got an F for the class and went into the Navy when the school year was over! Worked for me.

Actually I am running 2 video cards, in 2 different single cpu core machines. I have a 9600GSO and a 9800GT video cards. The 9800GT has 112 Processor Cores and the 9600GSO has 96 Processor Cores. Both are running the 190.38 and are doing just fine, at least they are doing better on Collatz than on Aqua which doesn't have any CUDA units right now. I am about ready to turn my ATI 4770 card loose on MilkyWay just to see how it does. That is in a quad core machine so it may end up moving to a different machine in the long run. On the single core machined I don't do cpu crunching if I don't have too, it just isn't worth the energy consumed anymore for me.
Oh well sorry about that but I am now WINNING!

I guess you are getting what we had two weeks ago, a couple of days where it was up near or just over 100 hundred degrees F!! We are having a string of low to mid 90 F days now, so get ready to get warm and stay that way!!! My basement is in the low 80's F right now, in fact it is 78F outside right now and it is only 6:41AM!!!! Drink lots of liquids and stay inside or go to the local mall or movie theater if you have to go out! That's what lots of Americans do when it gets too hot, they go to the mall and just hang out. There are still lots and lots of people that don't have a/c in the US, just like in Germany I suspect.
Oh well I am now WINNING while waiting for the F1 practice to begin around 8AM my time.

Luca Badoer on the other hand probably drove himself right out of a testing seat at Ferrari. He was sooo at Valencia and then again at Spa that all the announcers were talking about him being soooo slow. Even the drivers said he was 'in the way'! If he is that slow in a race how fast can he be in testing? It is not like he had fastest sector times in one sector and then was just slow in the next sector, he was slow everywhere! Maybe this is part of why Ferrari was off the pace this year? Oh well I am now WINNING!!! Monza is next and it should be fun to watch as well!!

As for passing me on Malaria I think it is more like I got close and may have passed you for a very short time but am now dropping back as I move more resources over to WCG for the Challenges over there. I still crunch for Malaria but just not as much. All my quad cores, 3 of them, are now full time WCG. They still have some Malaria units left but not very many and my dual cores, all but 2 of the rest, still do both Malaria and WCG but they are at 2/3rds WCG and 1/3rd Malaria. So yes my Malaria RAC is dropping but not stopping. As for Collatz I may need to update the client to the latest version of Boinc to move my RAC back up over there. I am still happy with my RAC but it is down slightly over what it was a week ago. I do not think i will ever catch you over there because I only have 3 video cards right now and none are REALLY fast. As Collatz gets better in their cpu/gpu separation of tasks I may try putting a newer card, I would have to buy one first, into a faster machine and see if it will keep up. Right now my 3 gpu cards are in fairly slow machines because they can crunch without affecting the cpu's ability to crunch. The 3 machines are crunching for Virtual Prairie because their units are only about 30 minutes long. That means if anything goes wrong, it is only 30 minutes of crunch time I have lost.

I too left WCG because of low credits for the work done and am back only thru the challenges and am then gone again. As for ABC been there, done that and Malaria will be out of here too after I pass my ABC stats. Hm, the WU length has increased over the last hours. Before I went to bed (last post) I had very short WUs but meanwhile they're taking several hours.
Guessing from the AQUA forum it's still test simulations though. And I have to admit that I have to get used again to the fact that AQUA uses multithreaded apps. ;-)

Hey I too am pooped from w*&king!! I am getting old and starting to feel it when I have to w*&k hard! I had to stand for 4 hours on Thursday putting memory into about 150 pc's and my fingers, wrists, back and legs hurt!! It was a small area, about 5 feet by 5 feet, and it looked like it had been raining inside when I was done, I was SOAKED!! I am DEFINITELY WINNING!!!

Just remember when you get a package that you did that. The package will contain some low quality flour, cats aren't really worth eating, they are either too skinny or all fat, very little meat on a cat so not worth wasting the good stuff on a cat!

I am sooo jealous, I have a scanner attached to one of my Win7 Release Candidate machines and it finds it but the scanner won't work. Says the software is too old. I am hoping that when I switch it over to 64 bit Win7 it will work, if not it will be time to move the scanner to a different pc. It is my wifes pc and she is still looking for some software to do her pictures with that supports 64 bit.
Oh and BTW I am now WINNING!!!

Wow!! Must be nice!!! I have a copy of Win7 Ultimate 32bit that I installed on a test machine yesterday and it too works just fine. It is an older single core machine with a 40 gig hard drive, an Athlon 2900+ and 2 gig of ram. It is not going to be a cruncher, the video card doesn't work for that, I was just sort of testing the software out.
I will try your suggestion with the scanner, it might work at that.

I don't want to jinx anything here but WOO HOO!!! When your quad is down I am actually producing more points than you are and I am catching you!! When it is up and running, and I have no doubt it will be again shortly, I am being outdone by your group of pc's!! I have had no problems installing and getting running any Win7 version so far, knocking on wood as I type this. I even installed it on a single core AMD 2900+ machine the other day with a 40 gig hard drive and 2 gig of ram, it is now crunching!! Did you do an upgrade or a new install? I have only done new installs, that could be your problem. And even on my other machines I plan to install it on, I will buy a new Sata drive and install Win7 onto it instead of doing an upgrade. I will then put the original drive back in as a 2nd drive in the machine. Most of my pc's are just Boinc machines, I do not use them for anything else. A few I use on a mostly daily basis to do something or other but most just crunch, and honestly most of them may stay XP just because it is steady and works.

And here I was hoping your quad would be down for a couple days at least!! I installed a new program on one of my quads and it broke too, but after a quick trip to my work bench I figured it out and it was up and running within 20 minutes. I have 2 drives in that machine and it wanted to make the IDE drive the default boot drive instead of the newer, faster SATA drive. I told who was boss and it is fine now! I need to install that program on something though so I may pick an XP machine next, the quad has an Win7 RC OS. The program is for my Palm that they gave me at work to use as a bar-code scanner. They have now gone away from Palm and won't install the software at work anymore, so if I want to use it I have to do it myself at home. I only use it for bar-code scanning and it works just fine for that.
Oh well it is time for WINNING!!

I am back online and WINNING!!! I have been out of internet at home here for 4 days!!! Comcast is REALLY REALLY bad!!! Verizon Fios will be here next Saturday and I will probably go with them. Fios has been outside of my house for over a year now but I have a contract with Comcast that runs until January and they will not let me out early! Over half my neighbors have Fios already and they just rave about it, I think it is time to leave Comcast and go over to the other side.

Well sort of, it was a nice long win though! But now it is my turn to WIN!!
We are going into the 40'sF today and will be there for a daily high the rest of this week. That means alot of our remaining snow will melt as we get ready for a new snowstorm this coming weekend. Too early to tell if it will dump on us or miss us altogether though.

Our snow for the weekend has been changed to a rain event, it will be in the high 40'sF to low 50'sF and waaay too warm to snow, That is a VERY good thing!! There are STILL piles of snow leftover from our first snow!!

I always saw some dripping from above when I looked out of my windows. *LOL*
