Since the application version has changed to 2.10 I'm getting nothing than computing errors on my WinNT and Win2K machines. Seems that WinNT 4.0 SP6 and Windows 2000 SP4 are no longer supported by application version 2.10. Can someone from the team confirm this assumption?

It is currently broken on Windows 2000 and earlier, as (I hope) noted on the front page.
I'm hoping to see if we can do something about it today/tomorrow, just didn't have a Windows 2000 VM available to test last week. Sorry! |

I too can't get this to run on my win2000 box. I get this error message:
8/31/2010 1:08:03 PM ABC@home Starting abc_sieve_wu_02256213_1

I hadn't noticed the post on the front page as I don't check in often, and thus I have several days worth of these messages. I am guessing that I've been sending a bunch of these back with computation errors.
I'm no_new_work on that host now, but any word on if/when a fix will arrive?

Sorry, didn't notice the news on the front page as I'm a rare guest, too. I've set my W2K and NT4 clients to NNW since the day of my first post until further notice.

Sorry! We're (obviously) very grateful for all contributions to the project, and this is still on my list of things to do, not forgotten. I was sick these last few weeks and didn't prod anyone else -- will try and at least work out what the problem is this week, and post an update. |

Is this problem with the win2000 hosts just too far down the list to realistically expect a fix? I'm not trying to be a complainer (really!), just wondering if I should keep waiting, or if I should just drop the problem hosts from the project. My WinXp boxes are going just fine.
Thanks.

Since it's been awhile since there's been any movement on this (at least in the forum anyway), I'm going to assume that Win2000 isn't going to be supported anymore.
I can understand that, it's been dropped from M$ support, and I'm sure it's hard to front the resources to maintain a working app for an OS in it's twilight.
I'll drop that host, and just run something else on it.

It still doesn't work, and I didn't see an update either... |

Your problem may be that you are running a very old version of boinc
"<core_client_version>5.10.45</core_client_version>", can you upgrade?
