Rats! I forgot to mention that in my reply to that SPAM. Thanks for pointing it out here. I have my own team, and not the one you see in this thread, that one has been defunct for over a year, so why would I drop my own team to join the likes of SETI.USA?
I opposed them years ago because they started the team for all the wrong reasons. Their mantra was warlike: "We kicked Germany's arse in WW2, we can do it here at SETI too." SETI.USA does not have my respect, they are not #1 despite what the stats may say. I will NEVER join a team that is NOT in this for the science.

"DC was not about the competition until SETI.USA" ? HUH ? Might be you are the crazy one! The entire DC/BOINC credit system was designed around competition, either personal gratification, individual competition, or team competition. However, when people or teams do crunch for competition - OMG something unheard of happens - more science gets done!! And we can not have that now can we!
And I do like the recommendation for the teams name- thanks for the idea.

I've heard it mentioned that we are in it for the science. That being true, without the competition between teams, a lot of people would loose interest and the science looses out in the end. Some of us actually enjoy the competition and look forward to it. I know FOR SURE, that our team is not the only one. If you receive a PM inviting you to come check us out and feel that you shouldn't have received it, just hit the delete key. It's not hard. Now back on topic. Anyone else who enjoys the competition or just wants to shoot the breeze in a pleasant environment, come check us out.

So then your responses in this thread, which were also unsolicited, are also spam by your definition. I assume you NEVER PM anyone unless they ask you to, since to do so is spam by your definition. Since I am not familiar with a way to send one PM to multiple people at the same time, I doubt seriously that a PM would/could be considered spam by legal definition.
