when will beta be back up?

Welcome Willem and thank you for turning the servers back on for a short time. This will enable people to return finished work (even though it may not get used) and will stop Boinc clients from continually trying to dial out to the project. I have at least one machine lock up because it couldn't do this. Some people may already have deleted the unreturned work units, so a couple of days should be sufficient. Thank you again. |

I am in the same boat - just over 200 WU's waiting to report on my machines and about 100 sitting in pending. Looks like they are all a lost cause. |

I just want to add my congratulations to both teams participating in this little contest. It has been great fun and done a lot of work for ABC. Our team has AA's every second month to have fun and do a lot of science but also to keep the team together. This is one of best AA's yet. Thanks for the ride. |

Just got back to my computer and see that AF has reached the great 1 million milestone. Congratulations to all of your team who have done such a wonderful job for ABC. AF has been a great bunch of people to have this small competition with and we appreciate the fun and games as well as your effort for the science as well. See you at the finish line ;-) |

@ [AF>HFR>RR] ThierryH Yes - you are right - the project gets a lot of exposure to the BOINC world. During and after our AA's we have noticed several times that they get discussed on other project forums and people decide to drop in and crunch some also to see what all the fun was about. Usually after we finish an AA (Aussie Assault)many of us stay on the projects - but at less time - because they become special to us. The science accomplished by a battle of big teams is an enormous amount, and on a new project it gives them a very good start. Our AA's are a team building and fun exercise and gets team members interested more in BOINC projects that can be done in their computers spare time instead of just wasting the cycles. It's all good fun and no one is meant to get hurt or upset - so crunch on and we'll see where we are on the 14th February when we finish this AA. Good luck everybody. |

Yes - I agree - good luck to all involved and I hope not too many machines die in this challenge - Boinc'ing stresses them pretty good. We'll wait for you at the finish line in a couple of weeks :-) |

@ [AF>HFR>RR]Celta Computer suppliers are so unreliable aren't they? Our truck load of Quad cores were supposed to be here in time for AA5, but they can't deliver them until after AA5 finishes. ;-) We will struggle on though with our Pentium120's & x386 & x486 computers. |

After wandering aimlessly in the teamlessness (is that a word?) wilderness for many months, I came across this bunch of loonies. Being very patriotic and a bit of a kook myself, I thought why not join'em. I found their forums to be very active, very helpful and very friendly. Everyone always welcome and always someone to try and help solve problems. If you are a lone Aussie out there with no where to go or just haven't found the right team yet, give us a go. I don't think you will regret it. |

I'm with you Astro - if Akosf gets involved - things will get very interesting. I have both types of computers Win & Linux (Kubuntu which I admit I am very new to) but will wait. When they are ready they are ready. No rush - get it right first time. |
