| Science in mankinds best friend, by far our greatest tool. The progress of science is important and beneficial for us as a species, and therefore everyone capable of lending a hand (or in the case of distributed computing projects, resources) should do their part. We can't (and shouldn't) all be scientists, but if we can provide them with computing muscle for solving problems, especially in such an easy manner, we should. We can gather tremendous amounts of computing power, with significantly smaller financial investments required, therefore granting the possibility of huge simulations and calculations to academic projects with limited funding, or even to projects run by "amateurs". As the data produced by the projects is made available, we are contributing to mankinds ever growing pool of collected information, providing means, information and foundations for future reserch and scientific progress.
