5 Time-Saving Tips For On-the-Go Moms

September 10, 2017 by Lauren Palmer

It seems like no one has any free time these days. You were busy before you had children, and you are even busier now.  Being constantly on the go seems to be a national epidemic, not something that can be solved in a single blog post.  There are, however, some time management strategies that can save you a lot of stress.

Prepare Meals in Advance

Time-consuming cooking projects are fun, but most of us can’t afford to spend hours each day cooking.  Amara organic baby food makes your life a little easier with their pre-made baby food pouches. Make elaborate cooking a weekend treat, and then reap the benefits later.  Instead of making meatballs for four, make meatballs for 20, and freeze 16 of those portions.  You have given yourself four nights where you can just come home from work, heat up frozen homemade meatballs, and boil pasta.

Take Advantage of Small Amounts of Free Time

If you have a ten-minute break between two commitments, use it to complete a ten-minute task.  Short breaks are great for answering emails or paying bills online.

Don’t Have an Irrational Fear of Screen Time

You use your iPad for lots of things, and most of them don’t rot your brain.  In fact, you probably use computers, tablets, and mobile phones mostly for work.  Your child will likely grow up to use these devices for work and studies, too.  If you and your child have to wait at the dentist’s office, it’s okay for him to use an iPad.  Let your child watch parent-approved videos on the tablet while you study for an exam.

Make Housework a Game

Housework takes forever if your kids are always nagging you.  Instead, make it a game, possibly with a prize.  For example, whoever puts the clean laundry in the right drawers fastest gets to choose which movie we watch on Saturday.

Buy Things Online

If you know exactly which items you need, buying them online is much faster.  It takes less work to click on an item than it does to drive to a store.

Your best resource is your imagination.  Use your creativity to find new ways to save time.
