Clearabee’s Clever Rubbish Removal Tips Before and After Moving

December 1, 2019 by Lauren Palmer

Moving is a great responsibility that very few people look forward to. It’s time consuming, expensive and tiresome. Despite this, you can make your relocation experience more interesting and affordable if you prepare well. One of the crucial parts of the preparation many people skimp on is rubbish removal.

You will have to clean your destination and the place you are moving away from before the entire ordeal is over. Post occupation and pre occupation cleaning is not only mandatory but also ensures that you settle in faster and don’t breach any terms and conditions that could hurt you financially.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you handle the rubbish removal as efficiently as possible.

Get a Bin to the Place You are Moving from Before Packing

The best thing you can ever do before moving is declutering. Cleaning up things you no longer need in your life leads to junk. If you have already contacted a rubbish removal company and have a bin on site, it will be easier to load and stash away the rubbish and leave your valuable clear for the grand move.

Since you will be loading the rubbish yourself, you might end up saving on some labour payments when settling the removal costs. Moreover, it is easier to declutter fully when you have somewhere to throw away what you don’t need and have it out of sight.

Post occupation cleaning will also be cheaper since you can negotiate a better rate as the cleaners won’t have as much rubbish to deal with.

Don’t Skimp Out on Pre Occupation Cleaning

If you are moving into your own home, you will have to do some landscaping, remodelling and post construction cleaning. Doing this before you move into your new home is more convenient and thorough. You won’t expose your family to all that rubbish and they will move into a cosy home that they can fall in love with at first sight.

Apartments or pre-owned homes are easier to move into. Chances are you will find the recent tenants or owners have already done their post occupation cleaning. Just remember to inspect the property before moving to avoid nasty surprises.

Don’t Buy Boxes and Packaging Unless You Absolutely Need it

Moving companies will tell you how important new boxes are in making your move safer. While this is true to some extent, you can make do with original equipment packages and minimal new box and wrapping purchases.

Innovate your packaging as much as possible without adding more. If you must get extra boxes, see if you can borrow some from friends, family or rent them from the movers.

Buying more packaging adds to your rubbish. You will have to get rid of them at one point or they will fill your basement and garage for nothing.

Delay Rubbish Removal Until You are Done Moving in

Finally, you can delay your rubbish collection until a day or two after moving in. This will give you time to unpack and get rid of any damaged packaging or junk you didn’t capture before. This means that you will have to hire the skip bin or rubbish collection services just once and still get all the unnecessary odds and bits out of your premises.

Moving time is a great time to clear up your inventory and remain with only what you need. Don’t kill this opportunity by clinging onto old and unusable stuff just because you have no way to dispose of it. Clearabee is a reputable cleaning and rubbish removal company that will help you get rid of all that junk at affordable rates. Get in touch today to get a free quote!
