How to Design an Office for Maximum Productivity

November 8, 2018 by Lauren Palmer

From home-inspired setup to technology integration and from comfortable furniture to decorative ideas, there seem to be endless options that company owners can use to boost employee productivity. However, not everyone can manage to integrate all these aspects into one beautifully designed space, that’s why they prefer to leave the task to the professionals.

If you are just getting started and would love to make the most of your spaces, or if you’ve been in business for a while, but feel as though your current office design is taking a toll on your and your employees’ productivity, then read on. This article will give you tips on how you can make the most of your spaces.

Here is how to design your office for maximum productivity:

Ergonomic furniture

Since your team will be spending a lot of time on their desk, you want to consider getting highly functional yet comfortable kontoritoolid and tables. The office chairs should be height and backrest adjustable, have lumbar support, allow sufficient seat width and depth and designed from breathable material and with adequate padding. If the employee is dealing with plenty of paperwork, the table should have drawers for storage.

Start thinking “variety.”

Instead of thinking “open,” you may want to think “variety” reason being open offices are linked to less productivity and lower employee satisfaction, higher absenteeism rates, and higher stress & fatigue levels. Instead of going for open spaces, you may want to create personal workstations that are customized according to the needs and preferences of an employee, “thinking rooms” where an individual can have some alone time and social spaces for bonding and collaboration.

Flexible and dynamic spaces

Flexible work areas are also a great way to enhance productivity. This kind of office design ensures minimal restriction, so employees are free to choose how and where they want to work. In a flexible and dynamic office setup, chairs and tables can be rearranged or moved easily. This is appealing to employees as their workstation does not restrict them. The best way to pull this design is by integrating couches, beans, and chairs where employees can sit while working on their laptops.

Home-inspired setups

Today, companies are embracing the home-away-from-home concept. This is in an attempt to make to office feel homey for the workers. You may want to borrow this idea and infuse home-like things into the office. For instance, you can have a lounge, sleeping area, TV room and so on. You may also include some soft furniture, acoustics, tables, saws, and children’s furniture – to make it more appealing to your employees.

Integrate technology

Technology has revolutionized the way people do business – you don’t want to lag. By integrating the latest technology into your company, you enable your team to work smarter and faster, and that’s what you need to grow. Introduce technology to your designs and ensure to add screens for video conferencing, presentations, wireless charging ports, data sharing, smartboards, etc. The idea is to leverage technology to help your team handle issues related to project management, communication, collaborating, and other vital areas in your business.
