Outdoor Spa – Fun for the Whole Family

February 9, 2018 by Lauren Palmer

If you’ve been thinking about giving your backyard a makeover, chances are you’re considering the idea of adding a water feature to it. This is where many people decide to go for a pool but if your goal is to create a perfect place for family activities, there are some alternatives you might want to give some thought as well. One of them is an outdoor spa, which is guaranteed to provide your family with many opportunities for spending quality time together. Read on to find out more.

It doesn’t take up a lot of space

One of the best things about outdoor spas is that they take up less space than actual pools do. Therefore, if you decide to get an outdoor spa for you and your family, you won’t have to worry about not having enough free space in your backyard. In fact, you’ll probably be left with plenty of free space for other backyard additions. For example, you can end up having your outdoor spa right next to your barbecue island and setting area. And there’s hardly a better way to spend some quality time with your family than preparing a barbecue while the kids are having fun in your new spa.

It can be used all year long

When installing a traditional pool, you have to worry about the availability of the swim season. For example, if you live in a region where temperatures tend to get really low, you probably won’t be able to use your pool for about 6 months every year. On the other hand, an outdoor spa can be used 365 days a year which will provide you with even more opportunity to hang around with your family. So, if your kids decide they want to use your new spa in December, there’ll be nothing preventing the entire family from doing so.

It’s safer than a traditional pool

An important factor you have to take into consideration when taking on your project is how safe your backyard will be. Contrary to what most people believe, you need much more than a safety cover for your traditional pool in order to keep everyone in your home safe. This is especially the case in winter when your backyard can get slippery. Luckily, outdoor spa pools don’t have this issue, since they usually come with a hard cover that can withstand one’s body weight. Also, kids aren’t able to open them, which eliminates the risk of unsupervised swimming. On top of this, you won’t have to worry about a pet falling into the water.

It’s easy to maintain

One of the biggest problems with traditional pools is that they require a lot of maintenance. And not a lot of people have enough time to take proper care of a backyard pool. This is also where opting for an outdoor spa might be a better solution, since one of these will require less maintenance than a traditional pool. Moreover, if you decide to get an outdoor spa pool, your maintenance costs will be significantly lower. According to some reports, maintaining a traditional pool costs 50% more than maintaining an outdoor spa.

It can be inflatable

If you’re looking for something different, an inflatable outdoor spa may be a perfect option for you. These things are easy to get into and simple to turn on and off, which is exactly what a family needs. Another great thing about inflatable outdoor spas is that they can be set up pretty quickly, allowing you to prepare your backyard for family fun time in a matter of minutes. It’s also a good idea to mention that most of these come with a long power cable, which means getting to a power socket should be a real piece of cake.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that more and more people prefer outdoor spas to traditional pools. These are much safer and easier to maintain than traditional pools, which makes them a perfect option for large families. So, if you’ve been looking for a perfect addition to your backyard, look no further than an outdoor spa.
