Are you a busy parent or professional and you just seem to always have life piling things on your plate with seemingly no end in sight? It can be daunting to have to take care of everything in our lives as they happen, which often seems to be all at once, but there are things we can do to help stay on top of everything. Here are some cool and interesting ways we can begin to get a handle on some of our most busy times.
Get An Organiser
Organisers come in all shapes and sizes and can vastly help with keeping track of things like appointments, events, scheduled activities such as football or hockey games for the kids and other things like charity drives, garbage day and more. Wall organisers for families are often one of the best ways to do this – either through the use of the column system where each family member has their own column, allowing you to see activities lined up side by side corresponding to each person, or through a large traditional wall calendar where each person has their own coloured ink for their activities. Either system works well to help keep track of events and activities so you will never miss a thing.
Make Plans, Set Schedules And Goals
To help you get through the week and to help make the week seem more manageable, consider taking half an hour each Sunday to make and set goals for the week such as doing a job or jobs you usually forget to do or push back because you don’t have time. Things like taking the dog to the groomer, getting the children’s haircut, organising and throwing away old magazines etc are all jobs that can sometimes get pushed back week after week until they become desperate. Tackle your week by setting goals and planning the ideal days on which to do which tasks.
Lists
Studies have shown that those who make to do lists are often better at completing tasks because they have it clearly set out in front of them and can better set a plan on completing their tasks. Knowing exactly what you need to do and when to do it by helps you maintain momentum on ticking things off the list. If you need to take the car for the MOT and it’s due by Friday, aim to get it done Wednesday so you have the option to shuffle things around if necessary, potentially freeing up that time on Friday for something else – or perhaps, nothing at all.
Employing Assistance
If you still struggle to get everything done throughout the week or you need childcare desperately due to work commitments and you can’t rely on phoning babysitters on the off chance they’ll be available, why not use a household staff agency to find someone to help you with those tricky parts of your week. You can even hire full time live in babysitters or nannies so you can rest easy knowing that the children are completely cared for.
So if you’ve been looking for that perfect schedule maker or even just a bit of help in making your week a bit easier to deal with, consider one of the above ways to help you tackle your weeks with ease. Good luck!
