Tips to Make Your Home More Comfortable This Summer

September 15, 2022 by Lauren Palmer

It can be tough to keep your home comfortable during the summer months. The temperatures are soaring and it seems like there’s no relief in sight! But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this blog post, we’ll share some quick and easy tips to help you stay cool and comfortable all summer long, from simple hacks like keeping the windows open to arranging exceptional spring water home delivery services to your door!

1. Open up your windows and doors to allow fresh air in

This might seem like a no-brainer, and yet many of us often forget to actually open the house up in the peak of the day. The more windows and doors you open, the more fresh air is able to circulate through the home interiors and help to lower the temperature.

If you’re worried about insects, you can install screens on your windows and doors. Or, try placing a bowl of water with a few drops of essential oil near the entrance of your home – the scent will help to keep bugs away!

Another quick tip: if you have curtains or blinds, close them during the day to help keep the heat out.

2. Install a ceiling fan or use a handheld fan to cool down the room

Ceiling fans are an excellent way to cool down a room without having to rely on air conditioning. If you don’t have a ceiling fan, try using a handheld fan instead. You can find them at most home goods stores or online retailers. Another way to cool down a room is to place a bowl of ice water in front of a fan.

If you have air conditioning, try to use it sparingly and only when necessary – it can be expensive to run and it’s not great for the environment.

3. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day to stay hydrated

It’s important to stay hydrated during the summer months, especially if you’re spending time outdoors. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day – water is always the best choice, but you can also try iced tea, lemonade, or fruit-infused waters.

A lot of the time, drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day is all about having instant access. By keeping a full water bottle on your desk while you work, or on your bedside table through the night, you’ll naturally sip from it more often. You can also invest in a water cooler for ice-cold natural spring water whenever you feel like it!

4. Take a cold shower or bath before bedtime for a refreshing end to the day

A cold shower or bath before bedtime can help you to cool down and feel refreshed. It can also be highly effective in relaxing tense muscles and reducing joint stiffness, for a better night’s sleep. If you don’t want to take a full shower or bath, try splashing some cold water on your face or taking a footbath.

We hope these tips help you to stay cool and comfortable this summer!
