Downtime Detector – Great Tips For Students Of All Kinds

March 28, 2018 by Lauren Palmer

Have you been wondering how you can bulk up your learning a bit or adequately balance work with school and play as well? Doing things online these days with regard to education can be hugely rewarding but sometimes can be overwhelming as well, especially when you have exam schedules to keep to and studying to do in between coursework on top of day jobs as well. Online education can be hugely beneficial to help save time or for those who are looking for fitting it in alongside a busy life, but how can you balance your time well so you get downtime too? Here are a couple great ways to spend your downtime.

Reading

Reading is a hugely important and enjoyable skill that many people use not just for work and school but also for fun. Picking the right book for you is key to enjoying reading as a hobby. You can work reading into any schedule by setting aside an hour or so each night to help you wind down with the latest by your favourite author. Try to read about an hour or two before bed and limit access to electronics which can be stimulating. You may find you sleep better.

Baking

Nothing says a great and productive period of downtime like baking a great treat for yourself to enjoy when you’re studying away and have limited time to whip up tasty treats like brownies, cookies, cakes and more. Even if you aren’t into sweets, you can cook and bake things like quiches, pies, and other foods that can be frozen for fast meals just to thaw out and warm up when time is a factor.

Exercise

What do you love to do in terms of exercise? Get out and go for a run, grab a friend for a set of tennis or a round of golf and get moving. It will help to refresh your body and mind and get rid of any study cobwebs beginning to form in your mind! The benefit is that it’s good for your body as well, so you’re killing two birds with one stone by enjoying a bit of movement and sport in your downtime as well as doing something great for your body!

Games

Did you know that there are a whole host of games online that are fantastic to play when you’re looking to just clear your mind? Betting sites offer some great sports betting news that give you the possibility of winning real money which is a bonus and can be put back into your studies or saved up to buy yourself a special treat for working so hard. Likewise, Facebook now has a whole number of games that far surpass Candy Crush Saga to play when you’re looking for something fun to do. Which will you choose?

Nature

It’s a proven fact that getting out in nature can really help refresh and replenish energy stores and is an excellent thing to do for your mental and physical wellness. Taking a stroll in a park, swimming in lakes or rivers or going to the beach can be great ways to harness the power of nature for you and use it to your benefit.

So which will you choose for your next period of downtime? With so many ways to relax, you will have no problem finding the perfect one for you!
