Ways in Which You Can Look Like a Model on a Budget

May 19, 2017 by Lauren Palmer

Being on a budget should not, and does not have to, stop you from looking at your best and despite what we may see on the TV or in magazines, you can actually wear the most fashionable clothes despite your financial restraints.

Now we should be clear, this is not to say that you will be able to buy the latest Louis Vuitton or Versace clothing straight off the catwalk but with a smart approach, you should be able to pick up some incredible stylish clothing ideas, for a fraction of the price of what you would pay for the real deal. Let’s take a look at how you can dress like a model, without leaving yourself bankrupt.

Thrift Shops

Thrift shops and charity stores sell a wide variety of pre-loved and well looked after clothing which you can recycle for your new wardrobe. Here you will be able to find vintage styles as well as some trendy stuff which you won’t be able to find on the high street. The best part about shopping in thrift stores and charity shops is that the prices are often at basement level which means that you can buy a great amount for very little money.

Magazine Research

Many male and female style magazines have alternative options of you if you want to wear what the models are wearing. The magazines will tell you in which shops you can buy the latest style and you will be able to pick up the hottest trends at a fraction of the price. High street retailers know that people want the latest trends so they create a budget version, albeit without the Armani or Jimmy Choo brand attached to it. Stay on top of the magazines and you will be able to find out the best places to pick up fashionable garments, at a reasonable price.

Make Your Own

Yu can make your own clothing, or add tweaks and stylish touches to existing clothing in order to look great and to save money. Whenever I have a pair of jeans which are damaged or ripped for example, I always cut them off for some funky summer shorts, I even add some touches of design to make them individual. If you have a bit of a creative mind and you want to replicate what you have seen on the catwalk, then get your sewing kit out and create something beautiful and original.

Buying For Good

When you do decide to invest heavily on a particular item of clothing, make sure that you spend money on something which will always come back in to fashion. For example, a pair of scrappy heels, a good winter coat or a little black dress are all items which have come and gone in the world of fashion for many years. If they are not in fashion right now then simply leave them in the closet and await their return.

A lack of budget does not mean that you cannot dress well, get creative, research well and look out for bargains!
