How to Make Sure That Your Dog Looks Awesome

August 9, 2017 by Lauren Palmer

Owning a dog is a wonderful thing and they can add so much fun and joy to your life. I have kept dogs ever since I got my first house and throughout the years it has been really interesting to see how the care of dogs has changed, something that I welcome with open arms. We should understand that a dog not only wants to feel good, but their mood drastically improves if they look good too. If you are a dog owner and you want to give your dog a great look, here are some tips on how you can do exactly that.

Dog Clothing

There are so many small dog clothes which you can get your hands on these days that there really is no reason why your pooch cannot rock the latest trends. There are two things that you should be focusing on when it comes to getting clothes for you dog, the first is practicality and the second is fashion. Now let’s be honest, the fashion side of things is much more for the owners than it is the dog but that is not to say that they won’t enjoy wearing some funky threads. The practicality side of things is vitally important and you should be helping your dog out with a coat or a rain-mac to protect them from the elements and even some shoes for them if their feet are sensitive. There is a wide variety of dog clothes on the market for you to try out.

Stylist

Taking your dog for a good wash, shampoo, nail trim and teeth cleaning can leave them feeling like a million dollars, and looking that way too. It is important to remember that you shouldn’t take your dog to the stylist with too much regularity as it can be damaging to their fur and skin. with that being said, taking them down to the salon once a month can not only make sure that they are clean and healthy, but also that they are looking great.

Hair Cut

Few people give much consideration to how they cut their dog’s hair and most will opt for something simple and short. There are so many different styles however that you could consider and the beauty of it is, the fur will always grow back if you make a mistake. For small dogs for example, the hairstyle which sees them with a skirt of hair across their legs and belly looks really classy and very cool, the important thing is to remember that you have a lot of choice available. Next time you take your dog for a trim, speak with the stylist about the choices that you have. Make sure that you tie the hair style in with the weather conditions, cutting off all of your dog’s fur in the middle of winter is not a good idea so keep this in mind.
