Bahamas Yacht Charters – The Greatest Trip Ever

January 5, 2019 by Lauren Palmer

Last year my husband and I went away with a  a group of close friends to celebrate a 60th birthday. We decided that we would go all out for this and we headed to the Caribbean, the Bahamas in fact. When planning this trip we began to read about Bahamas yacht charters and it looked like a great way in which we could spend a few days during our time in the Caribbean. We took the plunge and booked up for a 6 day excursion and I must tell you, it was the greatest time of our lives. If you ever have the chance to take a chartered yacht, here is why you will love it.

Staff and Service

Unlike when you go away on a cruise ship the staff here are there to help you and your friends, and they don’t need to cater to anyone else. This means that you end up building a great rapport with them and their service is far more personalized. From the moment that we had our preparation meeting to the moment that we got off the yacht for the final time, those mean and women were incredibly attentive and made our trip truly luxurious.

Tailor-Made

The preparation meeting which I have just alluded to was about meeting the staff and then having a pow-wow between the guests and the staff, about what we wanted to eat, where we wanted to go and what activities we would like to do. This personalized experience meant that everyone got to do something which they enjoyed, everyone knew that the food being prepared was to their liking and of course it gave us an opportunity to let the staff on-board know what our expectations were about this trip.

Accessible

There was a couple within the group who have actually been on a Caribbean cruise around these parts before and yet they continuously remarked about having never seen certain places of interest. We soon learned that the reason as to why they hadn’t seen these places was that the cruise ship simply couldn’t get in or stop on the islands or places of interest. With a yacht however you are in a much smaller, lighter and more flexible vessel, which means that everyone becomes far more accessible.

Standing on Ceremony

Something which I particularly enjoyed, especially when I compare this trip to the cruises that we have been on in the past, is that there was no real need to stand on ceremony. We have all been friends for many years which is why nobody was hung up on dressing to the nines each night for dinner, or trying to look your best even when you don’t feel like it. This was a truly relaxed and comfortable environment and it gave us the perfect opportunity too spend some time together and see this beautiful corner of the world.

If you have the chance I would certainly recommend a yacht charter.
