You Are Your Brain, Take Care Of It

May 21, 2018 by Lauren Palmer

A human brain that weighs only 3 pounds, and makes up to only 10% of the overall weight, is in fact the most powerful tool in the world. Humans are considered powerful and different from other species only on the basis of the brain we had and the tasks that we can do using it. It is the most complexed and complicated machine as well. A human body performs several tasks each day, each minute and everything that we do is not uncontrolled but monitored constantly by our brain. A pinch you feel in your toe and the mosquito bite on your face, all are felt, monitored and responded accordingly.

It is indeed surprising to realize that none of the functions we do go unmonitored or unnoticed by the brain. It is the fattest organ in the body as well which has the most complexed network of neurons sending messages and responding to the received ones every single second. There are so many Facts About The Human Brain which can leave you perplexed since we never thought about it that way. Despite making a humongous progress in the science, all parts and functionalities of the brain have not been discovered so far.

We have been hearing and believing a myth for so many years now that a person only uses 10% of its brain. This is untrue since a brain has several parts which perform their own tasks and it is not possible that a person never uses a certain part of their all their life. Similarly the left and right division of the brain is also a myth. All the parts of the brain work together whenever a person is performing a certain task. It is not like the right side of the brain is bored and will go to sleep because the left side of the brain is working on a painting. Brain is a complete entity and all parts of it work together.

When you start forgetting things, people would usually tell you that you are aging hence you’re being forgetful more often now. This concept is also not true as per the latest research of the neuroscientists. They have developed a program which can stop, slow down and even reverse the memory loss even by 10 years. Even if you get a part of your brain removed through a surgery, you can still be able to live normally without any effect on your personality or memory.

Health of your brain is determined by the routine life that you follow. If you are mostly sleep deprived, or malnutritioned, it is going to affect the health and performance of your brain directly. Our brain is the main hub which controls every single activity inside and outside of our body. You can think, imagine, stress, find solution, feel happy, sad or agitated all because of this one essential organ of your body. It is therefore necessary for you to take care of yourself the way your body deserves to be taken care of.
